We’re excited to introduce our latest featured artist, Matt Harvey. A talented commercial and advertising photographer with over 25 years of experience, Matt has worked across various disciplines, capturing everything from tourism, lifestyle, and food to architecture, agriculture, and automotive photography. His work has not only allowed him to collaborate with incredible people but also to travel extensively and explore the world through his lens.
While Matt’s commercial projects often feature a major video component, his true passion lies in the still image. He strives to capture the essence and mood of each scene in a single frame, believing that photography has the power to convey a deeper story.
"Photographing landscapes is a wonderfully pure and soul-cleansing experience. It always involves travel, exploration, and hopefully some adventure. Searching for that location, waiting—hoping that I’ll find something, and the light will be good."
Though Matt now calls Melbourne home, his roots lie in Country Victoria as he was born in the Mallee town of Managatang. Despite travelling to many places throughout his career, it was only in recent years that he discovered the stunning beauty of Lake Tyrrell. What began as a quick stop en route to other destinations has now become a place he returns to again and again.
"The lake and the region drew me back, as it will again and again."
